Girl Scouts of Northern California is home to eleven properties located throughout Northern California. Experience the adventure of cooking out, sleeping in a cabin or tent, gazing at the stars, or learning about nature. Each council site offers something unique, from old growth redwoods and the Pacific coast to trails that have sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay.
If you are a non-profit serving youth and are interested in renting one of our sites, please contact us at registration@gsnorcal.org for pricing and information. We are not able to rent our properties for private events, companies or non-profits not serving youth.
- Reservations for June 1 to November 30 will open April 1.
- Reservations for December 1 through May 30 will open September 1.
Q. Who can rent GSNorCal properties?
A. Girl Scout members in and out of GSNorCal council, and non-profit groups serving youth.
To qualify as a GSNorCal group and receive GSNorCal rental rates, the group must be comprised of at least 60% current or lifetime GSNorCal members.
All non-profit organizations serving youth must provide proof of liability insurance coverage of up to 1 million dollars and name Girl Scouts of Northern California as an additional insured.
Q. Do I have to rent an entire site?
A. Smaller groups can plan their own special trips by renting unit areas within the larger site, and service units and large groups may rent entire campsites for their events. Please note the Service Unit Priority Request Reservation Form is only for SU’s renting Entire Sites. If you are not renting the entire site then you can make a reservation on the website. Please note, if you are not renting entire site you may be sharing with other Girl Scout groups. Non Profits serving youth must rent the entire site. We are not able to do partial site rentals to Non Girl Scout groups.
Q. Do I have to pay a deposit?
A. Yes, all groups pay a 20% non-refundable reservation deposit at the time of check out. The remaining balance on your reservation is then due 30 days prior to your trip.
Q. Can my group exceed the stated capacities for sites?
A. No. Day use and overnight capacities at each site are based on several factors, including American Camping Association safety standards, and may not be exceeded.
Q. Where can I find out what the rental fee and availability is for each property?
A. Each property’s webpage includes a link to DoubleKnot, our reservation system, where you can view available dates. Email us at registration@gsnorcal.org or call (800) 447-4475 ext. 2091 for support.
Q. How will I know if my reservation has been accepted?
A. Online reservations are confirmed at the time of reservation and you will receive an email receipt confirmation after the reservation has been made.
A Girl’s Place
A Girl’s Place is your troop’s home away from home in Fairfield, CA! Perfect for overnights or troop gatherings, this property has a fully equipped kitchen and patio for all your troop meeting needs.
Arequipa
Located in Fairfax, CA, Camp Arequipa visitors can take advantage of nearby Bothin’s activities, ziplining through the trees, climbing the ropes course, or testing their aim at archery, as well as local adventures. Take the ferry and hike to the top of Angel Island, wander among the giants of Muir Woods, or go sea-kayaking or paddleboarding in local Sausalito.
Butano Creek
Located in the coastal redwoods of Pescadero, CA, Camp Butano Creek lies just minutes from the sparkling Pacific. This site offers a wide variety of exciting marine activities, including tide pooling, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing lessons, and backpacking on the Skyline to the Sea Trail, as well as more traditional camp activities, from archery to campfire songs.
Hidden Falls
Tucked away in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Camp Hidden Falls is one our best troop camping destinations. Stay onsite for a short trail hike through the redwoods leading to Hidden Falls, one of this site’s many gems, try your hand at the archery range or hatchet throwing range, or travel offsite to sea kayak up Elkhorn Slough to meet the sea otters.
Ida Smith
Ida Smith is located in the Outer Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco, just a few miles from Ocean Beach and the SF Zoo. Surrounded by Eucalyptus and Monterey Pines, Ida Smith provides easy access to the charms of San Francisco including beaches, ferry rides, a range of local museums, and more.
Twin Canyon
Camp amidst 35 acres of oak canyons and grasslands at Camp Twin Canyon. Nestled among the East Bay hills with direct access to hiking trails in Briones Regional Park, Twin Canyon has panoramic views of Mt. Diablo and the San Francisco Bay, making it a stunning place to camp in the Bay Area.
