Nestled in the Sierra Foothills, Camp Sugar Pine has a rich history of Girl Scout camping. Camp Sugar Pine is a perfect base camp for nearby excursions and activities in Calaveras County. Sugar Pine’s accommodations include cabin style buildings, a group tent campsites, and commercial kitchen if needed (only available May 1–31 and Mid August–September 30).

INDOOR OPTIONS
Picnic tables provided outside of each building.
- Rotary Lodge includes a full kitchen, a furnished, heated living room/sleeping area, two separate sleeping rooms (two beds per room), a shower and flush toilets. Not handicap accessible.
- Health Center includes three bedrooms (two beds per room), eighteen mattresses for the living room, a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and one shower. Handicap accessible.
- Cook’s Cabin includes three bedrooms (two beds per room), two bathrooms with showers, and a living room space.
Unit CAMPING OPTIONS
All areas include bathhouse with flush toilets, and showers. Units also include picnic tables, campfire circles, food storage, and a water spigot. Camping/cooking gear and firewood are not provided.

At 5,000 feet of elevation, there’s lots of opportunity to explore the snow at Camp Sugar Pine! Try snowshoeing and make snow forts at camp, or drive out to Bear Valley for skiing or tubing. Working on your Snow Adventure Badge? This is just the place to do it!
There are two winterized buildings on camp (The Health Center/Office and The Rotary Lodge).
We will not be offering winter camping at Sugar Pine for the 2024/2025 winter season.

Use the most convenient highway to reach Angels Camp, CA. located on Hwy 49 in the Gold Country.
From Angels Camp to Sugar Pine Rd:
- At Angels Camp, take Hwy 4 East and pass the town of Arnold.
- Reduce speed to 5 MPH and continue 100 yards on Sugar Pine Rd and into the camp.
- Sugar Pine is about two miles past the entrance to Calaveras Big Tree State Park.
- Look for the sign “Boards Crossing Rd” on the right side of the highway.
- When you reach the intersection, turn left. You will be turning into Sugar Pine Rd (Boards Crossing Rd is the name of this street on the right side of the highway). If you pass The Dorrington Hotel, located on Hwy 4, you’ve gone too far.)
