Camp Butano Creek is located on 145 acres of beautiful old growth redwood forest that is protected with a conservation easement supported by The Sempervirens Fund, just seven miles from Pescadero in San Mateo County. Sleeping options include cabins and platform tents with bunks and cots, and outdoor cooking areas include campfire ring, picnic tables, and potable water. Flush toilets and showers are available at limited sites. This site is great for troops, families, group retreats and more! Our modern commercial kitchen and dining hall also available to rent.

We are not able to rent our properties for private events, companies or non-profits not serving youth. All non-profit reservations are full for Fall 2024. Total Camp Capacity: 169 people
Sleeping Cabins:
There are three enclosed sleeping cabins (Sequoia, Penny Royal, and Redwood).
- Each cabin has a wood-burning stove. Outdoor covered cooking shelters are provided that include a barbecue, picnic tables and counter space.
- A centrally located shower/toilet building is shared between Sequoia and Penny Royal cabins. Redwood has indoor toilets and shower.
- All gear must be carried from the unloading areas to the shelters. Wheel carts are available from the site manager.
- NOTE: Sequoia and Penny Royal are available seasonally, March 1st to December 1st.
Treehouse Village Cabins:
Five state of the art open air designed cabins with single beds, electric outlets, lights and balcony area. The cabin windows are a flexible design with zipped windows.

- Detached bathhouse with two flush toilets and two showers
Huckleberry Platform Tent Unit:
Four platform tents with six beds per tent.
- An outdoor cooking area is provided and includes a barbecue, picnic tables, campfire circle and food storage.
- The unit has its own water and flush toilets.
Toyon Platform Tent Unit:
Five platform tents with five beds per tent.

North Commons Lodge:
Newly constructed in 2015, this 2000 square foot Lodge is adjacent to the Dining Hall.
- 100 sq. ft. full kitchen, four burner stove, oven, refrigerator, sink, pots and pans and commissary
- One 700 sq. ft. open room intended as multi-purpose for meetings and/or sleeping space for nine
- First floor “nurse office” area that includes two small rooms for adults or leaders with one toilet and a sink.
- One 120 sq. ft. room (can sleep aprox 3)
- One 55 sq. ft. room (can sleep one)
- Upstairs mezzanine is 200 sq. ft. and designed as a sleeping area for four.
- The bathroom has two toilets and two showers.
Laural Meadows Campsite
- Laurel is a beautiful sunny flat meadow located among majestic old growth redwoods. For overnight use, it can serve as a group campsite and providing your own tents. Laurel Meadows could also serve as a great outdoor activity area for daytime use.
- Flush toilets, running water, picnic tables, food storage and a campfire circle located at campsite.
- Great for stargazing at night!
Dining Hall/Commercial Kitchen:
- Fully functional state of the art commercial kitchen and dining hall are available and have a capacity of 150.
- Dining hall can be rented separately without the kitchen.
- Food Manager’s Certificate Required to rent the Commercial Kitchen.
- The Commercial Kitchen has a one time $250 cleaning fee per reservation.
Local Attractions
- Año Nuevo State Park is home to thousands of elephant seals.
- Pescadero State Beach has a mile-long shoreline with sandy coves, rocky cliffs, tide pools, fishing spots and picnic facilities.
- Pescadero Marsh Natural Preserve is a popular spot for bird watchers and other naturalists. The Preserve is a refuge for blue heron, kites, deer, raccoons, foxes and skunks.

From Hwy 101:
- Take Hwy 92 West (92 is the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge).
- Continue on Hwy 92 until it meets Hwy 1 at Half Moon Bay, and turn left (south).
- Approximately 18 miles south of Half Moon Bay is Pescadero Rd.
- Turn left and go past the town of Pescadero.
- Proceed to where the road splits, and stay on the right. This is now Cloverdale Rd.
- Proceed about 3.5 miles to Canyon Rd and turn left; reduce speed to 15 MPH.
- The camp is about 1.3 miles away.
